Coupled Solar and Energy Storage Market to Grow to $2.8 Billion in 2018

Dominated by grid installations, this market segment will be a boon to energy storage producers but have only a modest impact on the solar market, Lux Research says

BOSTON, MA – September 10, 2013 – Corporates playing in the solar and energy storage sectors have long dreamt of combining the two complementary technologies to differentiate products and defend margins. This symbiotic match shows promise, yielding a $2.8 billion market over the next five years, according to Lux Research.

Grid-tied solar installations will comprise 675 MW, or nearly 95% of the combined 711 MW market, while off-grid applications including telecom power claim the remaining 5%. While the off-grid market enjoys higher profit margins, the much larger addressable market for grid-tied systems means they dominate the solar and energy storage market.

“Developers are pushing packaged solar and storage systems in order to stand out as value-adding leaders, but not all benefit equally,” said Steven Minnihan, Lux Research Senior Analyst and a co-author of the report titled, “Batteries Included: Gauging Near-Term Prospect for Solar/Energy Storage Systems.” “Residential energy storage will see a boost adoption due to solar, but the addition of storage will barely move the needle for solar players, driving a paltry 1% increase in global PV sales.”

Assessing the emerging market for combined solar and energy storage, Lux Research analysts found that:

1. Residential applications dominate through 2018. As lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and overall storage arrays fall in price, residential systems will gain the most, growing to 382 MW in 2018. The light commercial segment will increase to 220 MW while heavy commercial/industrial systems lag, growing only to 73.3 MW.
2. Japan is the worldwide leader. Hit by high electricity prices and seeking alternative energy after the nuclear woes, Japan will install 381 MW of solar coupled with storage by 2018, leading all other markets by a wide margin. Germany will come in second at 94 MW, while the U.S. will be third at 75 MW.
3. Newfound storage policies may dramatically increase the market. This year, Germany set aside $67 million to subsidize solar-tied energy storage and the U.S. Senate introduced a program that could fund $7.5 billion worth of new storage projects, or about 7.5 GWh of capacity.

Kampung Inggris Pare-Kediri

Kalau lagi liburan panjang alih tahun biasanya apa yang temen-temen lakukan??Pergi ke pantai?maen ke rumah eyang??mudik ke daerah asal???Nah,daripada spending time cuman buat seneng-seneng, mending pergi ke Pare dah. Disana temen-temen bisa dapet ilmu, dapet pengalaman, dapet banyak teman baru, pokoknya banyak banget dah manfaat yang bisa kita dapet.
Liburan ni gw emang rencanain bwt belajar bahasa Inggris di pare. Jaman sekarang kalo kagag bisa bahasa internasional (English) kagag bakal maju dah. Secara banyak sumber pengetahuan tu menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Nah kalo gw belajar bahasa Inggris buat nyiapin TOEFL cuy., secara gw ada rencana mw daftar student exchange ke Amerika, jadi mw gag mw TOEFL gw harus tinggi donk...makanya gw pergi ke Pare bwt nuntut ilmu,:)
Setelah gw nyampe Pare gw baru tahu kalo ternyata baaanyak baget lembaga2 kursus disana. Selain itu tiap-tiap lembaga kursus juga menawarkan program-progream yang berbeda seperti, grammar, speaking, pronounciation, TOEFL, vocab, etc. Jadi kalo lw mw ke Pare siap2 aja bingung milih kursusan mana yang cocok.
Rata-rata kursusan di Pare sama seh, tapi ada beberapa yang menonjolkan pada satu program seperti DAFODILS yang terkenal dengan speakingnya dan KRESNA yang terkenal dengan grammarnya.
Kalo gw kemaren pertama masuk di OXFORD, gw ambil grammar donk, tapi level 1 cink. Jadi kalo lw mw memperdalam grammar gw saranin ambil level 1 dulu cz grammar di sini detail banget khususnya di OXFORD sama SMART. tapi enaknya di OXFORD satu program cuman butuh waktu 2 minggu. Jadi sisanya bisa bwt ngambil Program lain. Lumayan lah setelah gw ngambil grammar di OXFORD bisa lebih ngebantu bwt nyelesein soal TOEFL yang structure.

Compaq CQ40 416AU kompatibel dengan Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex

Pada awalnya saya menginstall Ubuntu 9.04 pada compaq CQ40 416AU saya. Namun ternyata setelah saya install banyak hardware yang tidak berfungsi seperti sound dan wifi. Saya berusaha mencari drivernya di internet mulai dari websitenya hp sampai blog-blog. Memang sih terdapat beberapa cara seperti menggunakan ndiswrapper untuk wifi atau koneksi ke internet.

Sebenarnya untuk mengaktifkan sound kita hanya perlu koneksi ke internet tinggal buka file mp3 atau video lalu update dari rithymbox atau media player. Jadi sebenarnya yang paling penting adalah mengaktifkan wifi.

aya berusaha mencari drivernya di internet mulai dari416AU saya. namun al gukung tikar > ganti pekerjaan lain > ternyata saSetelah saya berkali-kali browsing internet akhirnya saya mendapatkan info bahwa ada linux yang kompatibel dengan compaq yaitu Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex. Memang ubuntu Intrepid Ibex ni versi yng jadul namun sudah terdapat driver wifi untuk compaq. Link downloadnya ada disini.....

Setelah saya install linux maka wifinya sudah bisa digunakan. Namun, tetap ada masalah pada codec mp3 atau video. Maka untuk mengaktifkannya anda bisa melakukan langkah diatas (buka file mp3 atau video lalu search codec).

Namun jangan sekali-kali mengupdate. Karena saya pernah mencoba dan akhirnya wifinya tidak bisa aktif lagi. Ubuntu yang baru seperti Ubuntu 9.04 atau Ubuntu 10.04 tidak mendukung wifi compaq.
